Position Title: Community Development Officer

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate community engagement activities to identify and prioritize local needs and opportunities.
• Design, implement, and manage development programs focusing on education, health, economic empowerment, and social inclusion.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, including local government agencies, NGOs, and community leaders, to achieve program objectives.
• Monitor, evaluate, and report on the progress and impact of community initiatives.
• Develop funding proposals and manage resources effectively to ensure sustainable project outcomes.
• Organize training sessions and workshops to enhance community members’ skills and capacities.
• Promote awareness and advocacy on key issues affecting the communities we serve.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Community Development, Social Work, International Development, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in community-based project management or development work.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
• Familiarity with local languages and cultural contexts in East Africa is an advantage.
• Competency in project planning, monitoring, and evaluation tools.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software is a plus.

• This role requires regular travel to project sites within East Africa.
